Meetsel
Meetsel is a top-fermented beer with secondary fermentation in the bottle. It is an Extra Special Bitter of 6% Alc.Vol., color 25 IBC, bitterness 30 EBU.
Serve at 6° to 10°C
Spicy and fruity aromas and a hint of caramel. Smooth full-malt beer, hop bitter.
Meetsel - after the Metselstraat where the brewery is located - means: a settlement (sel) near a mowing meadow (meet). Loosely translated: a place where it is good to live.

Spicy Pumpkin Soup with Lemongrass and Meetsel (Courtesy of OBAD)
Ingredients:
1 onion, finely chopped
1 knob of butter
1 small pumpkin, peeled and diced
1 large or 2 small lemongrass stalks, without the stiff outer leaf, in fine rings
vegetable broth
Pepper and salt
1 fresh red chili in thin rings
Finely chopped chives
Beer: Meetsel
Saute the onion in the butter. Add the pump cubes and finely chopped lemongrass and pour over the vegetable stock until the pumps are just covered. Bring to a boil and let it boil. Puree with the mixer and add a few tablespoons of beer to taste. If necessary, add a little more water or vegetable stock, and season with salt and pepper.
Pour the soup into plates. Sprinkle with chopped chives and chili rings. Drink a glass of the beer with it.
